Investors willingness to take risk are often difficult to assess and quantify. Many asset allocators create models based on the ability to take risk without properly considering investors willingness to take risk; as a result, a great dichotomy between portfolios created taking into account ability (objective factors) and investors true risk tolerance considering willingness to take risk.
