Topic:   How Personality Influences Behaviors, Bias, & Risk Tolerance
(Accepted for -1- CFP® CE Credit  course id: 316828)

Investors willingness to take risk are often difficult to assess and quantify. Many asset allocators create models based on the ability to take risk without properly considering investors willingness to take risk; as a result, a great dichotomy between portfolios created taking into account ability (objective factors) and investors true risk tolerance considering willingness to take risk. The BNY Mellon Portfolio Strategy group provides solutions on assessing client’s willingness to take risk, pinpointing emotional or cognitive bias, reconciling objective and subjective factors, and tailoring advice to each client based on personality and risk tolerance.
