Topic:  A Caregiver's Guide to Finances  (accepted for -1- CFP® CE credit)

This program will present an overview of how caregiving affects finances, employment, and health;  useful discussion about financial and planning decisions;  benefits of early  planning;  identify steps to lower chances of financial abuse and fraud;  backup plan when the caregiver can no longer provide care; and challenges for demential and Alzheimer's disease.

Presenter:        Steve Tam --  Alzheimer's Association Hawaii

Steve Tam was a caregiver for his late father who had Alzheimer's disease.  Two uncles have passed away with Alzheimer's and his one living uncle has the disease.  Steve retired from the Alzheimers' Associaiton in 2020 where he was the Director of Development & led fundraising programs.  He currently volunteers as a community educator & serves as Sponsorship Chair for the Oahu Walk to End Alzheimer's.  He was previously the manager of BrightStar Care of Honolulu which provided in-home caregiving for those with demential and other disabilities.  Prior to that he worked at Prudential Locations as VP--Sales and broker in charge.
